Raipur, July 16 (HS). In a dialogue program organized by Niti Aayog, women expressed their views on the concept of developed India-developed Chhattisgarh and said that to empower women in the state, a special strategy will have to be made on education, health and nutrition. Women will have to be prepared for economic activities by connecting them through cooperatives.
In the program, women emphasized that there is a need to run public awareness campaigns against all social evils including gender discrimination, drug addiction, child marriage. There is a need to start new programs to make women self-reliant and independent, develop their skills, and start new startups.
In the program, Shatabdi Pandey said that women can become economically empowered only by joining cooperatives. For this, there is a need to promote state-level, interstate and nationwide organizations and multi-level cooperative institutions. Shamshad Begum said that there should be concrete initiatives to remove social evils.
Lami Baiga, Pushpa Vastrakar and Chitrarekha Sahu, known as Lakhpati Didi and Drone Didi, said that it is important to make arrangements for marketing, packaging and sales for women involved in entrepreneurship.
