The stock market did not start well on Monday, the first day of the week. BSE’s 30-share benchmark index Sensex opened 106 points down at 81602. At the same time, Nifty 50, the main sensitive index of 50 shares of NSE, started today’s trading day down by 43 points at 24633.
After weak global signals, on Monday i.e. today the benchmark indices of the domestic stock market Sensex and Nifty 50 opened with a decline. Since, Asian markets traded mostly with losses today. At the same time, last week the American stock market closed mixed. The Nasdaq and S&P 500 closed at record highs.
Asian market
There was a mixed trend in Asian markets. MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan fell 0.2 percent. Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 0.5 percent, while the Topix rose 0.4 percent. South Korea’s Kospi fell 1.6 percent. While Kosdaq declined by 2.9 percent amid the ongoing political turmoil in the country.
