Varanasi, 07 October (Hindustan Reporter). On Monday, the fifth day of Shardiya Navratri, devotees men and women attended the court of Skanda Mata located in Jaitpura Bageshwari Devi temple complex. Devotees started queuing up in the court from early morning for darshan and worship. After around 3 o'clock in the night, after the adornment of Matarani and Mangala Aarti, the doors of the temple were opened for the common devotees. The devotees were delighted to get a glimpse of the idol of Paraamba in the court. During this time, the praise of Matarani kept echoing in the temple premises. By the grace of Mata Rani, intelligence and knowledge increases. Therefore, crowds of children and youth kept coming to the mother's court for darshan and worship.
On the fifth day of Navratri, other goddess temples of the city are Maa Kushmanda located in Durgakund, Maa Katyayani Temple in Atma Visheshwar Temple complex near Maa Sankatha Temple, Kali Temple located in Kalika Gali near Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Maa Annapurna Temple, Siddhimata Temple in Golghar Maidagin, situated in Laksa. Crowds of devotees also gathered for darshan and worship at Mahalaxmi Temple, Maa Mahishasur Mardini located at Bhadaini, Gayatri Mata Temple located at Lahurabir, Shitaladevi located at Shitalaghat, Tridev Temple. Mother Skanda Devi is the mother of Kartikeya. The goddess has been described in the Kashi section, Skanda Purana. By worshiping them one attains wisdom, affection and love. Skanda Mata is also called the embodiment of affection. Mother Skanda Mata is worshiped for the birth of children. It is said that Skanda Mata is the presiding goddess of the solar system. By worshiping them the person gets supernatural light. Mother also opens the doors of salvation for her devotees. Along with Mother Skandamata, Lord Kartikeya is also worshipped. Skanda Mata has four arms. Mother is holding Lord Skanda in her lap with her right upper arm. The upper arm on the left side is in Varamudra and the lower arm which is raised upwards, is holding a lotus flower. Mother sits on a lotus seat. That is why she is also called Padmasana Devi. Mother's vehicle is lion. This form of mother is the most beneficial.
