Pune: Sharad Pawar has now ruled out the possibility of joining hands with nephew Ajit Pawar again. He said that there will be no reconciliation with the traitors without taking the name of Ajit Pawar.
Sharad Pawar has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of promoting social division through his election speeches. Sharad Pawar, a prominent leader of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MAVIA) in Maharashtra, criticized the ruling coalition for using significant financial resources, including cash transfer schemes, to woo voters after its poor performance in the Lok Sabha. However, he expressed confidence that the dissatisfaction of the general public, including farmers and youth, will translate into votes for the Mahavikas Aghadi in the upcoming assembly elections.
In an interview, Pawar criticized Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s slogans as harmful for national unity. Pawar also rejected Modi’s allegations that the opposition was dividing the society and said Modi’s speeches reflected his own divisive tactics.
He ruled out the possibility of reuniting with his nephew Ajit Pawar, who joined the BJP in 2023. Terming those who left the party as traitors, Pawar said his entire focus would now be on strengthening the Maha Vikas Aghadi and further strengthening its position in areas including Western Maharashtra, which is considered his stronghold. Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar has also denied any possibility of reconciliation with Sharad Pawar. However, many leaders from his own party expressed the opinion that an alliance with Sharad Pawar is possible after the elections.
Sharad Pawar argued that initiatives like the Ladki Bahin Cash Scheme prove that the ruling coalition is desperate to quell public discontent. Pawar expressed hope that voters, especially women, would value broader welfare and security over short-term financial gains and make the comeback of Mahavikas Aghadi possible.
