On the one hand, there is tension in the capital Delhi regarding the ‘Parliament March’, on the other hand, in view of the massive protest by farmers and the call of ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’. Shambhu Border It has once again been completely sealed with cement barricades, barbed wires and huge containers. Heavy deployment of Ambala and Haryana Police as well as paramilitary forces has been done at Shambhu Border located on the Punjab-Haryana border. From a reporter’s perspective, the administration has taken this strict step to stop thousands of farmers marching to Delhi within the Punjab border in protest against the India-US trade deal and demanding legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Barricading, drone monitoring and water cannon deployed

Ambala Police and Haryana Administration have greatly tightened security at Shambhu and Khanauri Border:

  • Multi-Layer Barricading: The passage of vehicles has been closed by placing heavy cement blocks on the Ghaggar river bridge and digging the road.

  • Surveillance through drones and CCTV: Drone cameras are being used to keep an eye on the groups of farmers coming from Punjab. Apart from this, water cannons and tear gas vehicles are deployed to deal with any uproar.

  • Huge trouble for passengers: Due to the closure of Shambhu border, traffic on NH-44 (NH-44 / Delhi-Amritsar National Highway) has come to a complete standstill, due to which passengers and heavy goods carriers traveling to and from Punjab and Chandigarh have to take long diversion routes.

Call for Kisan Ghat and Jantar Mantar Mahapanchayat

Farmer organizations (Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and United Kisan Morcha) in Delhi today. Kisan Ghat And Jantar Mantar But a huge farmer mahapanchayat has been called:

  • Major demands: Cancellation of the proposed India-US trade deal, legal guarantee of MSP for all crops on Swaminathan Commission’s C2+50% formula, and withdrawal of cases filed during the farmers’ agitation.

  • Statement of farmer leaders: Farmer leaders have said that no matter how many barricades the police puts up, the farmers of the country will continue to reach Delhi to raise their voice.

Checking of vehicles intensified on Delhi-NCR borders also

Apart from Shambhu Border, Delhi Police has also launched an intensive checking campaign by setting up pickets at Singhu Border, Tikri Border and Ghazipur Border. Due to heavy security checking, there are long queues of vehicles on Delhi-Gurugram, Delhi-Noida and Delhi-Sonipat routes since morning.

The administration has advised travelers to use the highways only for urgent purposes and use alternative diversion routes issued by the police.
