Gwalior, 9 October (Hindustan Reporter). Under 'Shakti Abhinandan Abhiyan', girls gave an exciting display of martial arts in a program organized at the District Sports Complex on Wednesday. It also proved that girls are completely capable of protecting themselves. Martial arts were demonstrated by 15 girls in this program organized by the Women and Child Development Department in collaboration with “District Taekwondo Sports Association”. Martial arts were demonstrated by the girls under the guidance of Taekwondo Association Secretary Ajay Gupta.
It may be noted that under 'Shakti Abhinandan Abhiyan', various activities focused on important issues like women led development, women empowerment and women safety are being organized by the Women and Child Development Department of the government. The 'Shakti Abhinandan Abhiyan', which started from October 2, will continue till October 11. Collector Ruchika Chauhan has given instructions to effectively implement all the activities of the campaign in the district.
District Program Officer Dhirendra Singh said that social awareness initiative has been taken under the campaign for respect and empowerment of women and girls. Under the activities of the campaign, Shakti Puja Day in Anganwadis, painting competition on women safety in schools, discussion on acts related to women, women awareness rally, dialogue program, increasing participation of women in employment, business, entrepreneurship, respect for women elders. Day, Sashakt Vahini registration, safety walk at Panchayat and ward level, mental health sensitization, discussion on women's participation in development and art display by girls etc. are being organised.
