Shahjahan Sheikh jailed on Sandeshkhali case, Calcutta High Court Lalghum

Trinamool Congress leader Shahjahan Sheikh, accused of atrocities on women in Sandeshkhali, West Bengal, has received a big blow from the Kolkata High Court. The court refused to stay his arrest and said that Sheikh should be arrested immediately. The court also directed to make ED, CBI and the state Home Secretary as parties in the suo motu case against Shahjahan Sheikh.

Shahjahan Sheikh's petition seeking a stay on the arrest was rejected by the Calcutta High Court. The high court judge also took a tough stance on the comments of Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee and two other state ministers and said the court had never stayed the arrest of Shahjahan Shaikh. He should be arrested.

Abhishek Banerjee said that the arrest of fugitive leader Shahjahan Sheikh is being delayed because of the court.

He said when TMC leaders Partha Chatterjee and Jyotipriya Malik were arrested then who is Shahjahan Sheikh. He should have been arrested immediately.
