Pakistan’s fast bowler Shaheen Afridi has made a big record in the first match against South Africa. Shaheen took three wickets for 22 runs against the Proteas team on Tuesday. With this, he has become the first bowler of Pakistan to take 100 wickets in all three formats of cricket.

Shaheen is the third Pakistani bowler to do so

The Pakistani fast bowler achieved a rare feat by taking a wicket, first in the powerplay, then in the middle stage and finally during the first innings of the T20I against South Africa in Durban on Tuesday night. With his record-breaking spell, Shaheen also became the third Pakistani bowler after Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan to take 100 T20 International wickets.

Shaheen is second in this matter

Apart from T-20 International, 24 year old Shaheen has taken 112 wickets in ODI and 116 wickets in Test cricket. Shaheen reached the three-figure mark in his 74th T20 International for Pakistan. He also became the second fastest bowler for Pakistan to take 100 T20 International wickets. Earlier, Haris Rauf had achieved this feat in 71 matches.

Shaheen joins Veterans Club

Overall, Shaheen became the youngest player to achieve the feat and joins the club of New Zealand’s Tim Southee, Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan and Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga.

Shaheen did not allow Miller to score a century

Talking about the match, Shaheen first dismissed Rassie van der Dussen for a golden duck with a surefire yorker. He also ended his brilliant innings of 82 runs by dismissing the in-form David Miller. In the end, he got his 100th T20 International wicket by dismissing Nakabayomji Peter LBW.
