Seven members of an interstate gang involved in theft in a jewellery shop were arrested

Bilaspur/Raipur, 9 August (HS). Police has arrested seven members of the interstate Basor gang who used to commit thefts in jewellery shops in many districts including Bilaspur and Raipur of Chhattisgarh. After scanning more than 500 CCTV footages, these accused were caught from different districts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. This gang used to first do recce and then execute the crime.

Bilaspur IG Sanjeev Shukla, while revealing the case on Friday, said that the accused had committed theft in gold and silver shops in Raipur, Janjgir-Champa, Balod, Balodabazar, Ambikapur and Sipat and Chakarbhatha of Bilaspur district. 33 kg silver jewellery, silver bars, 125 grams gold jewellery, four lakh rupees in cash, a car used for theft, a motorcycle, 6 mobile phones have been seized from the arrested accused.

The IG said that the police scanned more than 500 CCTV footages to catch the accused. After identifying the suspects on the basis of technical inputs, the tattoos on their bodies led the police to the interstate gang. The accused include Lalman alias Badka, 54 years, resident of Barhawatola, Singrauli district, MP (11 crimes registered in the past), Ramdhin Basor, 56 years, resident of Baghadih Hathkoudapara Pipardah, Singrauli MP (17 crimes registered in the past), Siyaram Basor, 51 years, resident of Lamidah Sarai, Police Station Sarai, District Singrauli MP (15 crimes registered in the past), Lalji alias Kinka Basor, 35 years, resident of Lamidah Sarai, Singrauli MP (8 crimes registered in the past), Rajendra Gupta alias Gudda Baniya, 37 years, resident of Gajra Bahra, Police Station Sarai, District Singrauli MP (buyer), Manish Soni alias Sushant alias Sonu, 30 years, resident of Main Road, Ganyari, Vaidhan district, Singrauli MP (buyer), Amit Singh, 33 years, resident of Ganyari, Police Station Kotwali, Vaidhan district, Singrauli MP (buyer's associate).
