During the wedding season, everyone wants to start the new journey of their life in a special way. But this time a wedding in Madhubani, Bihar attracted everyone’s attention due to its unique tradition. To make his wedding memorable and eco-conscious, Sujit Choudhary took a pledge to conserve the environment by planting seven medicinal plants.
Seven rounds of marriage and resolution of seven plants
Sujit Chaudhary told that planting seven plants symbolizes seven rounds for him. In Sanatan tradition, marriage is said to be a bond of seven births. Taking this idea forward, he said that just as keeping the marriage vows is a lifelong duty, in the same way it is their responsibility to take care of these plants.
Sujit said that unless our environment is safe, the future of our generation cannot be safe. This step is not just to make the wedding special, but to give a social and environmental message.
Usefulness of medicinal plants
Emphasizing the importance of medicinal plants, Sujit Choudhary said that these plants are very beneficial for health and they are used in medicines, due to which the lives of many people can be saved. He said,
“Planting trees on an auspicious occasion like a wedding symbolizes a new beginning, which will prove beneficial for future generations.”
His thinking is not just at the personal level, but is the beginning of a new tradition towards social change.
New tradition for environmental protection
Sujit cited indiscriminate cutting of trees as the main reason behind this new initiative. He said that nowadays the number of trees is decreasing, which is having a bad effect on the environment.
- We can take a pledge to conserve the environment by planting trees on auspicious occasions like marriage.
- This will not only add importance to the event, but will also create a lasting message that we should take active steps for the environment.
New direction for society and environment
This initiative of Sujit proves that traditional weddings can be linked with environmental awareness. If such traditions are adopted, it can improve individual life as well as society and environment.
“Planting a tree with every auspicious deed” is not just an idea but a positive step which, if adopted on a large scale, can fill the earth with greenery.
