Setback for Sandip Ghosh, Supreme Court refuses to interfere in Calcutta High Court order | News India

New Delhi, 06 September (HS). The Supreme Court has refused to hear the petition of former principal of Kolkata's RG Kar Hospital, Sandeep Ghosh. The bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said that the CBI is investigating both the rape and murder incident and corruption cases in the hospital premises. There is no justification for Sandeep Ghosh's interference in the PIL on which the Calcutta High Court had ordered a CBI inquiry into the corruption allegations.

Sandip Ghosh had filed a petition in the Supreme Court saying that the Calcutta High Court did not listen to his side while handing over the corruption investigation against him to the CBI. He said that he had filed an application to make himself a party to this case, which was rejected by the High Court. In his petition, Sandip Ghosh had also demanded the removal of the High Court's comments linking the corruption charges with the rape incident that took place in the hospital premises.
