Services of two Shiksha Mitras terminated for missing training


Hamirpur, 12 May (HS). On Sunday, major action was taken against two Shiksha Mitras for missing the training of polling personnel deployed on polling duty for the Lok Sabha elections. Instructions have been given to dismiss both Shiksha Mitras from service.

In the training program organized at Government Post Graduate College, Kuchhha on Sunday, 288 polling personnel were to be trained in the first shift. In comparison, 287 polling personnel were present in the first shift and 293 polling personnel were present in the second shift and 6 polling personnel remained absent. Of these, 4 polling personnel were absent due to ill health. Instructions were given by the Chief Development Officer to terminate the services of 2 polling personnel (contract workers) if they were absent without reason.

In the training program, proper information about voting related responsibilities was provided by Chief Development Officer, District Development Officer, District Basic Education Officer and Chief Trainer etc. and the polling personnel were given proper training in operating EVMs by master trainers. Besides, all the polling personnel were instructed to be present at their place 30 minutes before their scheduled time.
