Sensex drops 151 points to 82201 on profit booking in Reliance | News India

Mumbai: With global markets turning cautious ahead of US economic data, index-based foreign funds in Indian stock markets also took a stance of trimming overbought positions, avoiding fresh bullish deals today. On the global front, contrary to positive signs of Israel, Russia getting ready to withdraw from the war front, China data is overall coming down and the fall in international price of crude oil has started indicating deflation. Sensex, Nifty remained in the negative territory today amid profit booking after the board approval of 1:1 share bonus issue in Reliance Industries and weakness in frontline stocks including Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel, Larsen. Selling was seen in auto, capital goods stocks. Sensex closed 151.48 points down at 82201.16 and Nifty 50 spot index closed 53.60 points down at 25145.10. However, IT, consumer durables frontline stocks, funds in small, mid cap stocks, high net worth investors remained the buying attraction.

Titan increased by Rs 112 to Rs 3721: VIP increased by Rs 23 to Rs 514: Consumer index increased by Rs 524

Frontline stocks of consumer durables companies continued to rise today. VIP Industries rose by Rs 22.75 to Rs 513.65, Titan Company rose by Rs 112.40 to Rs 3721.40, Aditya Birla Fashion rose by Rs 4.20 to Rs 315, Rajesh Exports rose by Rs 3.25 to Rs 296.55. Whirlpool of India rose by Rs 17.35 to Rs 2235.95, Voltas rose by Rs 4.90 to Rs 1784.80. While Dixon Technology fell by Rs 362.25 to Rs 12,414.40. BSE Consumer Durables index closed at 64396.01, up 523.98 points.

Board approves 1:1 share bonus in Reliance: Shares fall Rs 43 to Rs 2987: Oil India falls

Shares in oil and gas stocks today fell by Rs 42.65 to Rs 2,987.15 due to profit booking amid developments that the board of directors of Reliance Industries approved issuing a bonus share to shareholders. Oil India fell Rs 27.40 to Rs 654.95, Adani Total Gas fell Rs 10.25 to Rs 843.80, ONGC fell Rs 2.90 to Rs 311.45. Meanwhile, oil marketing stocks remained attractive amid fall in crude oil prices. IOC rose Rs 4.15 to Rs 181.20, Indraprastha Gas rose Rs 7.75 to Rs 556.55, HPCL rose Rs 4.45 to Rs 448.95, BPCL rose Rs 3.50 to Rs 360.

63 Moons Tech up Rs 19 at Rs 397: Nelco up Rs 49 at Rs 1285: Quick Hill, Coforge, Newgen gain

IT-Software Services, Technology stocks were attractive today. For the second consecutive day, the shares rose by Rs 18.85 to Rs 396.75, 63 Moons Technologies said in an exchange filing that it has received information from NSEL investors that the company is considering a one-time settlement with the company and NSEL traders. With this, Nelco rose by Rs 48.90 to Rs 1285, Quick Hill Technology rose by Rs 26.40 to Rs 731.05, Coforge rose by Rs 211.35 to Rs 6542.30, Infobins rose by Rs 12.25 to Rs 450.90. Newsen Software rose by Rs 28.50 to Rs 1082.40, Tata Technology rose by Rs 18.50 to Rs 1075.10. BSE IT index closed at 43300.98, up 184.89 points.

Among capital goods stocks, Bharat Electronics, BHEL, Rail Vikas, Hindustan Aeronautics, Lakshmi Machines declined.

Funds continued to book profits in capital goods stocks today. Bharat Electronics fell Rs 8.30 to Rs 290.60, BHEL fell Rs 5.20 to Rs 273.55, Rail Vikas fell Rs 10.95 to Rs 581.65, Hindustan Aeronautics fell Rs 70.90 to Rs 4792.20, Lakshmi Machine Works fell Rs 231.10 to Rs 16,016.80, Siemens fell Rs 73.85 to Rs 6688.50, Honeywell Automation fell Rs 540.70 to Rs 49,769.10, Polycab fell Rs 57.90 to Rs 6658.80, Teamcan fell Rs 57.90 to Rs 6658.80. .31.75 down to Rs 3800, Larsen & Toubro fell Rs 29.20 to Rs 3623.30. BSE Capital Goods index closed 444.70 points down at 72375.51. Of course, Schaeffler Industries rose Rs 129.50 to Rs 3957.15, Suzlon NG rose Rs 1.82 to Rs 76, GMR Airport rose Rs 2.50 to Rs 95.85.

Tata Motors down Rs 12 to Rs 1,068: TI India Rs 61, Bajaj Auto Rs 122

There was profit booking in the shares of automobile companies today. TI India fell by Rs 61.20 to Rs 4061.60, Bajaj Auto fell by Rs 121.95 to Rs 10,846.55, Tata Motors fell by Rs 11.65 to Rs 1068.65, Eicher Motors fell by Rs 35 to Rs 4803.60, Mahindra fell by Rs 18.45 to Rs 2730.15, Cummins India fell by Rs 25.05 to Rs 3842.90, Maruti Suzuki fell by Rs 41 to Rs 12,294.75.

Small, mid-cap stocks again attracted market sentiment, 2249 stocks closed positive

Today the market breadth turned from negative to positive due to low buying by funds, high net worth investors in small, mid cap, cash stocks. Out of total 4038 stocks traded on BSE, the number of gainers increased from 1932 to 2249 and the number of losers decreased from 2019 to 1679.

DIIs net buy Rs 2,971 crore: FPIs/FIIs net sell shares worth Rs 689 crore

Foreign Portfolio Investors – FPIs, FIIs net sold shares worth Rs 688.69 crore in cash today on Thursday. Total sales of Rs 18,135.56 crore were made against total purchases of Rs 17,446.87 crore. While DIIs-Domestic Institutional Investors net bought shares worth Rs 2970.74 crore in cash today. Total sales of Rs 11,832.44 crore were made against total purchases of Rs 14,803.18 crore.
