Sensex and Nifty closed in the green. Sensex closed at 80,170, up 1,053 points. While Nifty closed at 24,251 points with a gain of 314 points.

On Friday, BSE Sensex closed at 79,117.11 points with a gain of 1961.32 points and Nifty 50 also closed at 23,907.25 points with a gain of 557.35 points.

For Sensex today, Larsen & Toubro shares closed with maximum fall of 4.14 per cent and JSW Steel shares closed with maximum fall of 2.31 per cent.

Shares of Unilever closed up by 1.27 percent, Mahindra & Mahindra by 1.01 percent, NTPC by 0.83 percent, UltraTech Cement by 0.81 percent.
