Sensex created history, BSE succeeded in crossing the mark of 74,000 for the first time

Stock Market Closing: Wednesday's trading session of the Indian stock market was very historic. BSE Sensex has created history. For the first time in today's trading, BSE Sensex has succeeded in crossing the figure of 74,000.

National Stock Exchange's Nifty also managed to touch a new high of 22,490 in today's session. At the end of today's trading, Sensex closed 409 points up at 74,086, while Nifty closed 118 points up at 22,474.

Although the stock market has been successful in touching new historical highs, there has been a decline in the market prices in today's session. The market value of shares listed on BSE fell to Rs 391.37 lakh crore from Rs 393.04 lakh crore in the previous session. There has been a loss of Rs 1.67 lakh crore in market valuation in today's session.

In today's trading, the market has recovered from the low level and closed due to buying in banking shares. Bank Nifty closed with a gain of 384 points. Apart from this, shares of Auto, IT, Pharma, PSU Bank, FNCG, Healthcare sectors closed sharply. While shares of Oil & Gas, Infra, Energy, Media, Real Estate, Metal sectors closed with a decline.

A huge decline has been recorded in midcap and smallcap shares in today's trading. At one point the midcap index fell by more than 1000 points and the small cap index by more than 500 points. But buying from lower levels came back but both the indices closed with a decline. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 19 closed with gains and 11 with losses.

Whereas out of 50 Nifty stocks, 32 stocks closed with gains and 18 stocks closed with decline. Shares of Bajaj Auto, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel closed with big gains.
