Mumbai: US Domestically, with the Federal Reserve maintaining interest rates on hold, as the third term of the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has begun, funds, players, players continued to buy stocks today in anticipation of Union Budget stimulus. Sensex, Nifty made new records in July for the overall growth of the country. The new stock of funds, the Ascensex, rose 538.89 points intra-day to a new record high of 77145.46 and finally closed 204.33 points up at 76810.90. While the Nifty 50 spot index rose 158.10 points intra-day to a new record high of 23481.05 and finally closed 75.95 points up at 23398.90. Along with this, funds, players in small, mid cap stocks continued the broad rally.
Capital Goods Index rose by 1449
The BSE Capital Goods index jumped 1448.91 points to close at 72088.20 as funds made aggressive big buys in capital goods stocks today. Siemens rose Rs 338.55 to Rs 7404, Hindustan Aeronautics rose Rs 215.15 to Rs 5103.15, BHEL rose Rs 8.85 to Rs 303.90, Carborundum rose Rs 35.05 to Rs 1738.90, Larsen & Toubro rose Rs 74.90 to Rs 3,704.25 on mega offshore order from ONGC, ABB India rose Rs 159.50 to Rs 8,440.10.
Consumer index jumped 1157 points
The BSE Consumer Durables index jumped 1157.40 points to close at 58680.03 as funds made aggressive buying purchases in shares of consumer durables companies today. Shares rose Rs 536.70 to Rs 10,857.90 after Dixon Technology announced plans to invest Rs 1500 crore to Rs 1800 crore over three years, Titan Company shares rose Rs 90.70 to Rs 3471.75, Voltas shares rose Rs 34.05 to Rs 1481.45, Blue Star rose Rs 9.75 to Rs 1690, Whirlpool of India rose Rs 9.30 to Rs 1803.
Attraction towards IT stocks is increasing
IT-software services, funds in technology stocks, the attraction of experts is continuously increasing, BSE Infobins Tech rose by Rs 30.30 to Rs 490, Genesis rose by Rs 29.20 to Rs 520, Nelco rose by Rs 25.75 to Rs 801.45, Orionpro Solutions rose by Rs 107.20 to Rs 2651, Zensar rose by Rs 16.45 to Rs 716, Tech Mahindra rose by Rs 19.80 to Rs 1390.10, TCS rose by Rs 45.10 to Rs 3877.50.
Solid rise in realty stocks
Funds were bullish on realty stocks today due to continued rise in demand for properties in metros along with the government's mega project to build more homes in the country. Sobha Developers rose by Rs 105 to Rs 2168.90, Macrotech Developers rose by Rs 70.75 to Rs 1537.80, Godrej Properties rose by Rs 93.75 to Rs 3022.40, DLF rose by Rs 15.20 to Rs 874.45, Prestige Estate rose by Rs 27.65 to Rs 1874.40, Oberoi Realty rose by Rs 18.35 to Rs 1936.85.
Investors' wealth increased by Rs 2.35 lakh crore
Investors' wealth i.e. total market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies rose by Rs 2.35 lakh crore to a new record high of Rs 431.67 lakh crore today as Sensex, Nifty based stocks continued to show interest in small, mid cap, A group stocks.
FIIs sold shares worth Rs 3033 crore in cash today on Thursday. While DII-domestic institutional investors made net purchases of Rs 553.88 crore in cash today.
