Saturday i.e. today the stock market is open for a special session. The stock market opened with a rise in the special session on Saturday, May 18. On this occasion, Sensex jumped by more than 150 points and once again crossed 74000. At the same time, Nifty also increased by more than 60 points and reached beyond 22,500.
The stock market remains closed on Saturdays but today it is open for special trading. Actually, this special trading is organized to test the preparedness of the stock market to face any crisis. In this special trading session the data is moved from the primary to the disaster recovery (DR) site.
Special trading in two sessions
Today special trading is taking place in two sessions. The first trading time was from 9.15 am to 10 am while the second time will be from 11:30 am to 12:30 noon. The maximum price limit for all securities on which futures and options products are available will be 5 percent during this session. Earlier, NSE and BSE had held similar trading sessions on March 2.
ARP Circuit in these stocks today
Some stocks hit upper circuit during the first session. Also, a spectacular rise was seen in some shares. Today, a rise of up to 5 percent was recorded in Zydus, HAL, Bharat Dynamic, Balkrishna Industries, Zee Entertainment, Cochin Shipyard, GE Shipping and Titagarh Rail System.
How was the market on Friday?
Earlier on Friday also there was an uproar in the stock market. Sensex ended trading at 73,917.03 with a rise of 253 points or 0.34 percent. National Stock Exchange (NSE) index Nifty also increased by 62 points or 0.28 percent and closed at 22,466 points.
