Saharsa, 18 November (HS). On the occasion of International Men’s Day, Dr. Girija Shankar Jha, Senior Cardiologist, Ninthi Cardiac Care, expressed concern over the increasing cases of heart diseases in men, especially Acute Coronary Syndrome ACS and Coronary Artery Disease CAD. He said that the present lifestyle, which consists of stress, unbalanced diet and lack of physical activities, are the main causes of these diseases. Symptoms of ACS and CAD such as chest pain, difficulty in breathing and fatigue should be taken seriously and timely medical consultation should be taken.
Dr. Jha said that heart diseases can be prevented by regular health checkups and balanced diet. He said to take fiber rich diet and avoid fried food. 30 minutes of physical activity daily like brisk walking or doing yoga is beneficial. To control stress, meditation and deep breathing techniques should be adopted.
He also stressed that smoking and alcohol should be completely avoided as these are major factors leading to heart diseases.Dr. Jha appealed on this occasion that men should become conscious about their health. He said that major health problems can be avoided by changing small habits. Effective treatment of heart diseases is possible by taking timely consultation with the doctor. On this International Men’s Day, every man should prioritize his health so that he can live a healthy and strong life.
