Semi-final between England and Netherlands today

Euro Cup 2024 football has reached its final stage. The second semi-final between England and Netherlands will be played on Wednesday at 12:30 am. The Euro Cup final will be played on Sunday. Both teams managed to win the match in their respective quarter-finals after the opponent team scored an early goal.

England won the penalty shootout after drawing the match 1-1 against the Swiss team. On the other hand, the Netherlands defeated Turkey 2-1. If we look at the overall record of both the teams, England has won only one match in nine matches. Four matches were drawn and four were lost. England last won a friendly match 1-0 in Amsterdam in 2018. This will be the fourth time the two teams will clash in a major tournament. In which the Netherlands team, known as the Orange Team, won 3-1 in the 1988 Euro Cup with a hat-trick by Marco van Basten.

Then in the 1990 World Cup, the match was drawn 0-0 and in the 1996 Euro Cup, England won 4-1. England will play in the semi-finals for the fourth time in the European Championship and will have a chance to reach the final for the second time in a row. In the 2020 Euro Cup, England reached the final by defeating Denmark 2-1. England was knocked out of the Euro Cup in 1968 (vs Yugoslavia) and 1996 (vs Germany). On the other hand, the Netherlands has reached the Euro Cup semi-finals five times and won the Euro Cup only in 1988 by defeating Germany 2-1 in the last four match.
