IPL Mega Auction for 2025: Just before the IPL 2025 mega auction, a meeting was held between the BCCI and IPL franchise owners yesterday on 31st July. In this meeting, Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan and Punjab Kings' Ness Wadia clashed with each other. The point of contention between the two was the number of players retained before the IPL mega auction. The franchises are trying to prepare the best team, but the BCCI conducts a mega auction every three years. Because of this, only 3-4 players of the franchise will be retained. However, there are difficulties in reorganizing the entire team. Therefore, Shah Rukh Khan supported the removal of the mega auction system.

According to media reports, BCCI sources who were present in the meeting said that Shahrukh was supporting against the mega auction. The KKR owner had a heated argument with Punjab Kings co-owner Ness Wadia over the number of retentions. Shahrukh was in favor of retention, while Wadia was against retention.

Shahrup and Wadia are at loggerheads

In this meeting held in Mumbai, Shahrukh Khan joined hands with Sunrisers Hyderabad on the issue of removing the mega auction. Kavya Maran was also seen supporting Shahrukh's point. However, the BCCI has not yet announced any specific decision on this matter. The board will announce its decision by the end of August. Kavya Maran said, it takes a lot of time to build a team, it takes a lot of time and investment to make young players mature. It took Abhishek Sharma three years to stabilize his performance. There are many such examples in such teams.
