Gopalganj, July 14 (HS). The Gaya district administration is on alert mode regarding the Muharram festival in the district. Extensive preparations have been made to celebrate the festival in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere. The district administration is being vigilant even before the festival. Police patrolling has been intensified across the district. Anti-social elements are being monitored. Police officers and magistrates have been deployed at 334 places to maintain law and order in the district during Muharram. The administration will also keep a strict vigil on social media. Strict action will be taken against those spreading rumours.
SDO Dr Pradeep Kumar said that police has been deployed at every nook and corner. Apart from magistrates, adequate number of police force has been deployed at the places designated for taking out the Moharram Tazia procession on Wednesday. In view of the Tazia procession during the festival, adequate security arrangements have been made in the urban areas as well. Apart from this, security forces have been deployed at all those places where there is a possibility of any kind of disturbance during the festival.
Official sources said that in view of this festival, 334 magistrates have been deployed at identified places in the district. The police have been ordered to keep a strict vigil in every area in view of the festival. In view of this festival, the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police have jointly issued orders and appealed to the common people to avoid rumours. A control room has been set up at the district headquarters regarding the festival.
