Secretariat Cup 2024: Drinking Water Department, Education Sports, NIEPVD Warrior and UPCL registered victory | News India

Dehradun, 26 September (HS). Four matches were held on Thursday under the Secretariat Cup 2024, an inter-departmental cricket competition organized by the Uttarakhand Secretariat Cricket Club. In which Drinking Water Department, Education Sports, NIEPVD Warrior and UPCL won their matches respectively.

The first match was played between the Drinking Water Department and PWD on Thursday at Ashmit Cricket Ground in Dudhli. Batting first, Drinking Water scored 108 runs at the loss of 08 wickets. Nagendra scored the maximum 31 runs for the team. While chasing 109 runs, PWD team could score only 78 runs for 9 wickets. In this way Payjal won the match by 30 runs. Mohammad Islam, who performed brilliantly for the drinking water department, was chosen man of the match.

The second match was played between Urban Development and Education Sports at Ashmit Ground. The Urban Development Department team, batting first, was all out for 62 runs. In response to which Education Sports won the match by losing one wicket in 7 overs. Virendra Singh, who emerged as the hero in the match, was given the Man of the Match award.

On the other hand, the first match was played between NIEPVD Warriors and Sachivalaya Warriors at Maharana Pratap Cricket Ground. NIEPVD Warriors scored 115 runs at the loss of 3 wickets in the first play. Shubham scored 31 runs for the team. Chasing the target of 116 runs, the Secretariat Warriors team could only score 104 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated overs. On the strength of Himanshu Thapa's excellent performance, NIEPVD Warriors won the match by 11 runs. Himanshu was the man of the match.

The second match was played between UPCL and Education Ministerial. UPCL, playing first, scored 188 runs for 01 wicket, Devendra Adhikari scored a brilliant 65, Shekhar Pathak scored 60 runs. In reply, the Education Ministerial team could score only 80 runs for 9 wickets in the stipulated overs. UPCL won the match by 108 runs. Man of the match was given to Devendra Adhikari.
