Today is the second day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meditation at Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari. Officials said PM Modi started his second and last day of meditation after offering 'Surya Arghya' at sunrise on Saturday. The Prime Minister will conclude his meditation at 1.30 pm after which he will visit the statue of Tiruvalluvar and pay tribute to the Tamil poet after returning.
PM Modi on Saturday started his morning by offering 'arghya to the sun', a spiritual practice that involves saluting the Almighty manifested in the form of Lord Sun. An official said that the Prime Minister filled sea water in a traditional small vessel as arghya and prayed using a rosary. During this, PM Modi was wearing saffron clothes and he also offered flowers of reverence to the statue of Swami Vivekananda. He performed mandap with japa mala in his hands. PM Modi started meditation at Vivekananda Rock Memorial on the evening of May 30 and it will end on Saturday afternoon. After the end of the election campaign for the last phase, PM Modi reached Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. After reaching Kanyakumari on Thursday, PM Modi first offered prayers at the temple of Goddess Kanyakumari. This temple is also known as Bhagwati Amman Temple. Let us tell you that 131 years ago when Swami Vivekananda came to Kanyakumari in 1892, he also offered prayers at this temple before meditating on the sea rock and today Prime Minister Modi also reached this temple and started his meditation.
