Kishanganj, 24 June (HS). A child drowned in the Kanakayi river on June 20 afternoon while bathing in Balwadangi ward number 12 of Dakpokhar Panchayat of the district. As per the instructions of District Magistrate Tushar Singla, the search for the drowned child is going on at the spot by the SDRF team for the last four days till June 24.
The Block Development Officer, Circle Officer and Police Officer visited the child's house and talked to his family members and met his parents and assured them. Sub-Divisional Officer Latifur Rahman and Officer-in-Charge, District Disaster Management Center Sunita Kumari also reached the spot and met the child's family and consoled them.
Disaster Incharge Officer Sunita Kumari said that every possible effort is being made to find the deceased. She has also appealed to the general public to avoid going into rivers at such times.
