Kathua, August 15 (HS). In an effort to redress public grievances, SDM Hira Nagar Rakesh Kumar (IAS) presided over the Block Day programme held at Community Facility Centre, Village Changi, Block Marhain.
The event witnessed participation of representatives from all major departments including Rural Development Department, Public Works Department, Jal Shakti, Social Welfare Department, Labour Department, J&K Bank, Power Development Department, Revenue Department and Cooperatives. During the event, local residents and public representatives presented their grievances and demands, which included repair of roads, works under Jal Jeevan Mission, installation of electricity poles and other important issues affecting the community. The SDM actively engaged with the participants and carefully addressed their developmental concerns. Many issues were resolved on the spot and instructions were issued to the concerned officers to settle the remaining grievances on priority basis and within the stipulated time frame. He emphasized that the primary objective of organizing such grievance redressal camps is to get first-hand information about local concerns, thereby enabling a comprehensive and timely resolution process based on on-site assessment. Tehsildar Marhain, BDO Marhain, AEE PMGSY, AEE PWD and officers from other departments were also present in the event.
