School Holidays in April 2024: After a week or two of holidays, a new session starts in schools. However, there are also some holidays in April due to some local festivals, as a result of which many schools across the country will remain closed on those dates.
According to the calendar, Eid is on Thursday, but if the moon is not sighted the night before, the date of the festival will be extended to Friday, April 12. If this happens, students will get a long weekend break – April 12, 13, and 14.
Schools will also remain closed due to Ambedkar Jayanti on 14th April (Sunday) and Mahavir Jayanti on 21st April (Sunday). Apart from this, schools will also remain closed on 7th and 28th April (Sunday). In many states schools remain closed even on Saturdays.

Meanwhile, many schools will start summer vacations in May. According to Delhi School Calendar 2024, summer vacations will start from May 11 and end on June 30. However, the school teachers will work from June 28 to June 30, 2024. Furthermore, the autumn vacation will be held from October 9. till October 11, and the winter break is scheduled from January 1 to January 15, 2025. In 2024, schools in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed for more than 100 days. There will be summer vacation for 41 days in the schools of the state. It will start from 21st May and continue till 30th June.
