Aligarh DM Visakh ji has ordered to keep all government and convent schools from nursery to 12th class closed on Thursday. AMU schools will also remain closed.

At the same time, an orange alert has been issued due to the continuous rain in Hathras. In view of the possibility of heavy rain and storm, holidays have been declared on 12th and 13th September in schools up to class 12th.

In fact, it rained throughout the day on Wednesday, due to which the maximum temperature dropped by 4.8 degrees and the minimum temperature by 3.2 degrees Celsius. Waterlogging occurred in many areas of the city and countryside. Due to strong winds and rain, paddy crops fell in some areas.

Advisory issued for safety and protection

Following the weather department's warning, the Aligarh DM has issued an advisory for rescue and protection and has appealed to people to stay safe. The advisory says that in case of heavy rain and lightning, take shelter under a concrete roof.

If there is no safe shelter nearby, sit in a squatting position by joining the heels of both feet together and bending the head on the toes. Cover the ears with the hands.

If you are traveling by vehicle, keep all the windows open and stay in the vehicle. In homes, stay away from windows, doors and verandas. Avoid coming in contact with electrical equipment or wires. Take shelter in a sturdy building or vehicle. Stay away from open fields or high places.
