Earlier, after the quarterly examinations, a five-day holiday was declared from September 27 to October 2. However, teachers organizations had requested that they need more time to evaluate the exam copies. In view of this request, the department has decided to keep all schools, including government-aided and private schools, closed till October 6.

Actually, the quarterly examinations of all classes were conducted between 20 September to 27 September 2024. The teachers had reportedly sought extension of the vacation period so that they could get additional time to thoroughly evaluate and grade the exam copies of students. In view of the heavy rains in Ayodhya, an order has been issued to keep all schools from pre-primary to class 12 closed on Saturday.

The Agra district administration had earlier ordered that all government, convent and public schools will remain closed. After this announcement, a large number of parents and students contacted the District Magistrate on phone on Friday evening. ADM City Anoop Kumar said that the holiday order was issued, but it was canceled within one and a half hours.

On the other hand, Ayodhya DIOS Dr. Pawan Tiwari said that in view of heavy rains, all schools from pre-primary to 12th will remain closed. This order will be applicable to all schools of secondary and CBSE boards. If any school violates this instruction or a complaint is received, strict action will be taken against the school concerned.
