Ranchi, June 26 (HS). On the occasion of World Anti-Drug Day, on Wednesday, a pledge and prize distribution meeting was held in all the schools of the state on the last day of the 'A War Against Drugs' campaign. Before this, the school children took out a rally in the school's catchment areas and made people aware about drug abuse. Through the pledge meeting held in the schools, the children took a pledge against the use of drugs.
After the Sankalp Sabha, there was a prize distribution ceremony in which district level officials awarded the children. From 18th June, school children were showing their intellectual talent through various activities and competitions. On 22nd June, Prabhat Pheri was taken out by school children in the entire state and on 25th June, through a cycle rally, children gave a strong message against drug abuse.
Tobacco prohibition complex will be built in schools
On the instructions of the Central School Education and Literacy Department, the Jharkhand Education Project Council has directed to create a tobacco-free campus in all the schools of the state and within its 100 meter radius. Under this, it will be prohibited to set up any kind of tobacco shop in the school premises or within its 100 meter radius. Also, messages against addiction will be painted on the walls.
Selling paan, gutkha etc. in the tobacco prohibition complex will also be prohibited. There will also be a provision to impose a fine on spitting after eating tobacco in this complex or within its prescribed limits, so that common people can also become aware against addiction. This will be continuously monitored by Jharkhand Education Project Council.
