With the help of technology, fraudsters rob people by doing new scams. Now a new scam has come in the market which is happening in the name of India Post.
Users have reported receiving a fraudulent SMS allegedly from India Post. These messages are read to inform you that your package has arrived at the warehouse and delivery attempts were made twice.
SMS comes in the name of India Post
Recently a new case has come to light in which an SMS related to India Post is being circulated, asking people to update their address. This SMS is a phishing scam, which you should be careful of. Revealing the misinformation, PIB Fact Check has confirmed that these messages from India Post claiming to update the address are fake.
Know how this scam works
- In this scam, India Post informs you that your package is in the warehouse and the delivery attempt has failed due to incomplete address information.
- This message asks you to update your address within 48 hours to avoid having the package returned. A suspicious link (indisposegvs.top/IN) is also provided with this message.
- PIB Fact Check confirmed that this message is fake. They clarified that India Post does not send SMS requesting to update address for delivery.
