
Sawan, the most sacred month of worship of Lord Bholenath, has formally started from today. On the very first day, at the auspicious time (Brahma Muhurta and Abhijeet Muhurta), a large number of devotees gathered in temples across the country for Jalabhishek and worship of Shivalinga. In the religious cities of Uttar Pradesh—Kashi (Varanasi), Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Kanpur, Lucknow, Deoria and Gorakhpur—long queues of devotees are visible outside the Shiva temples since early morning. Cheers of ‘Har-Har Mahadev’ and ‘Bam-Bam Bhole’ are echoing everywhere.
Kashi Vishwanath Dham: VIP and Sparsh Darshan completely closed
An unprecedented level of security and order is being seen in the court of Baba Vishwanath located in Varanasi. The temple administration has taken major steps to ensure that the common devotees can have easy darshan without any hindrance throughout the month of Sawan:

VIP and Sparsh Darshan Close: Sparsh Darshan, Protocol and VIP Darshan have been completely suspended throughout Sawan.

Strong Security Circle: More than 5,000 police personnel, PAC, CRPF, NDRF and water police have been deployed in and around the Dham complex.

Hi-Tech Surveillance: Strict vigil is being maintained from both the sky and the ground with AI cameras, three-point system and tethered drones flying 24 hours a day.

7 Easy Entry Points: To manage the queues, 7 entry gates including Nandu Faria, Silko, Dhundhiraj, Saraswati Phatak and Bhairav Dwar have been opened.
Special facilities for devotees: German hangers and red carpets have been laid to protect from sun and heat. Free e-rickshaw and golf cart facilities have been provided from Maidagin and Godaulia for the elderly, women and disabled people. ORS, drinking water, glucose and a 24-hour ready team of doctors are deployed. Live streaming has also been started on the official portal for darshan at home.

Prayagraj: Darshan and worship started early in the morning with Mangala Aarti in the very ancient Mankameshwar Mahadev temple of Sangam city Prayagraj. Devotees are making wishes by offering Ganga water, Belpatra and Dhatura.

Ayodhya: Thousands of devotees performed Jalabhishek of Baba Bholenath in the historical Nageshwarnath temple located near Saryu banks.

Kanpur and Deoria: Queues started forming at the famous Anandeshwar Temple (Parmat) in Kanpur and Shiva temples in Deoria as early as 3 am.
Estimated arrival of 5.5 crore devotees, duty in 3 shifts
The administration estimates that this time in the month of Sawan, the number of devotees in the major Shiva temples of Uttar Pradesh will increase by 5 to 10% and the total number of devotees will increase by 5 to 10%. More than 5.5 crore devotees Will arrive for darshan.
21 police posts and 13 traffic posts have been created for crowd control. More than 10,000 security personnel have been deployed in three different shifts to ensure smooth functioning. Coming 3rd August will be the first Monday of Sawan, on which day a new record of crowd is expected to be created.
