World football’s governing body FIFA will approve Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the 2034 World Cup at its special meeting on Wednesday. Apart from this, the decision to host the World Cup in three continents and six countries in 2030 will also be given the green signal.
The hosting of this World Cup has been handed over to three countries Spain, Portugal and Morocco but three of its matches will be played in the South American country. Uruguay hosted the first World Cup in 1930. It will host the first World Cup match in 2030. Before this, the inauguration ceremony will also be organized in Uruguay. Argentina and Paraguay will also host one match each at the 2030 World Cup.
FIFA is organizing a special meeting on Wednesday to take some important decisions in which 211 members will participate online. The meeting, held behind closed doors at FIFA headquarters, will be broadcast live on its website. The host country of the 2030 and 2034 World Cups will be decided by joint decision rather than voting. FIFA revealed each member’s choice to host the 2026 World Cup in Moscow in 2018. The United States, Canada and Mexico won the joint hosting rights.
