Satna, 28 April (HS). Collector Anurag Verma reached Matruchhaya Seva Bharti Satna on Sunday and handed over the girl Ishani in the hands of American citizens willing for adoption. Collector Verma himself completed the adoption proceedings by being present at Matruchhaya and obtained necessary information from the interested couple.
While legally handing over the girl to her parents, she took a promise from them to never consider her an orphan. President Pradeep Saxena, District Program Officer Women and Child Development Saurabh Singh were present on this occasion.
It is noteworthy that during his tenure, Collector Anurag Verma has so far issued 47 adoption orders and handed over children to couples willing to adopt them. Among these, adoption orders have been issued for 7 children from April 2021 to March 2022, 12 children from April 2022 to March 2023 and 28 children from April 2023 to March 2024. Innovation in the matter of adoption of children was done by Collector Anurag Verma. Earlier the adopting couple had to appear in the Collector Court. But Collector Verma made a new arrangement so that the couples adopting children do not have to appear in the Collector Court. For this, the Collector himself reaches the concerned institution and collects necessary information from the couples and hands over the children as per the situation.
