Satna: 13 trucks of wheat bought on paper, district manager suspended, FIR against nine

Satna, 21 May (HS). Fake wheat worth Rs 96 lakh was purchased on paper at a procurement center in the district. In return, payment was also made to the farmers. Not only this, with the connivance of transporters, middlemen, officers and employees, wheat was shown being transported and reaching the racks of the railways. Taking this seriously, the government has suspended District Manager of State Civil Supplies Corporation, Amit Gaur. The police have registered a case against nine people including the president of the women self-help group and started investigation.

Collector had given instructions for investigation today itself

In fact, Collector Anurag Verma reviewed the procurement work by holding a meeting of officials of departments related to wheat procurement in the Collector's chamber on Tuesday. In the meeting, the Collector had directed the concerned departmental officials to conduct a detailed investigation of the irregularities committed in the transportation of 3860 quintals of wheat worth about Rs 93 lakh in Jaitmal Baba Mahila Self-Help Group Karigohi.

The Collector gave instructions to stop the payment of the amount in the accounts of 19 farmers related to the procurement center from April 1, 2024 to May 21, 2024 and to trace the amount transferred from these accounts to other bank accounts and hold those accounts also. . He had instructed the manager of Civil Supplies Corporation to give detailed information in this regard and to take strict action against the employees involved in irregularities in wheat procurement work.

Here, on Tuesday, departmental officials informed Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav about this matter in the procurement related meeting. Department officials said that 3,860 quintals of wheat was transported in 13 trucks from Karigoh in Satna district, but it did not reach the warehouse. The surveyor passed these trucks. Approval letters were also issued from the supply centers of the corporation. On the basis of this, the produce was also paid to the farmers. It also came to light that the registration of the surveyor was done on the portal through the login of the District Manager.

On this basis, it was believed that District Manager Amit Gaur was negligent in this matter, hence the Corporation suspended him and posted him as the Headquarters Regional Office, Jabalpur. Till now, a case has been registered against women self-help group president Sita Giri, operator Abhilasha Singh, transport manager Samrat Singh, corporation operator Narendra Pandey, Dhananjay Dwivedi, Satish Kumar Dwivedi, Rakesh Singh and others and taken up for investigation. .
