B Srinivasan is a 1992 batch IPL officer of Bihar cadre. Before becoming NSG DG, Srinivasan was Special DG of Jammu and Kashmir under Nalin Prabhat.
Who is IRMS officer Satish Kumar?
Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) officer Satish Kumar has been appointed as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Railway Board. This makes him the first Scheduled Caste Chairman and CEO in the history of the board, senior Railway Board officials said. He is currently posted as Member, Traction Rolling Stock.
Satish Kumar has been appointed as the current chairman of the board and CEO Jaya Verma Sinha is retiring on August 31 and Kumar's appointment will be effective from September 1. An official order of the Railway Board said that Satish Kumar has been appointed in the apex pay scale (Pay Scale 17 as per Seventh Central Pay Commission).
Bureaucratic changes
Jaya Verma Sinha took over as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Railway Board on September 1 last year, becoming the first woman to hold the post. Just two weeks ago, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved a series of key bureaucratic appointments in various ministries. The leadership reshuffle includes new appointments in key departments, including finance and defence.
