Jaipur, 20 July (HS). Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that Sarpanch is the smallest but the most important unit of governance. It is the Sarpanch who implements the welfare schemes of the Central and State Government. Sarpanch is the representative of the entire village, hence he should work for the development of the village with strong willpower without any discrimination.
Sharma was addressing the Yashasvi Sarpanch state level felicitation function at Rajasthan International Centre (RIC) on Saturday. On this occasion, he felicitated 20 Sarpanchs who did remarkable work for the development of villages. He said that Sarpanchs should try to increase the sources of income of their Gram Panchayats so that they can get development work done at their own level in addition to the funds received from the Central and State Government. If basic facilities like water, roads, electricity, medical, education are available in villages, then migration from villages can be stopped.
The Chief Minister said that the Panchayati Raj structure in Rajasthan is very wide and strong. The development of rural areas is being accelerated through more than 11 thousand Gram Panchayats in the state. Our government is giving full emphasis on strengthening the Panchayati Raj system and the all-round development of villages. He called upon the Sarpanchs to remain dedicated to the development of their Gram Panchayat with full dedication without coming under any pressure. Sarpanchs of various Gram Panchayats, public representatives, senior journalists and a large number of common people were present in the program.
