By scoring half-centuries in both the innings of this match, he has joined the special club of great players. For Team India, Yashasvi remained unbeaten on 214 runs and Sarfaraz Khan remained unbeaten on 68 runs in the second innings.
Sarfaraz has become the fourth batsman of Team India to score half-centuries in both the innings of his debut Test match. Before Sarfaraz Khan, Dilawar Hussain, Sunil Gavaskar and Shreyas Iyer have achieved this feat from Team India. Sarfaraz Khan played a half-century of 62 runs in the first innings.
Shreyas Iyer last achieved the feat of scoring half-centuries in both the innings of the debut test for Team India. He played innings of 105 and 65 runs in his debut test match against New Zealand in the year 2021. Earlier, Dilawar Hussain (59 and 57) and Sunil Gavaskar (65 and 67 not out) had achieved this feat in Test cricket.
