Sarabjot Singh qualified for the men's 10m air pistol final at the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Cup 2024 Rifle/Pistol in Munich on Wednesday. Sarabjot qualified for the final with an excellent score of 588. Sarabjot became the third Indian to win a medal at this Munich World Cup. Earlier, Ramita and Isha had finished sixth in the air rifle and air pistol finals.
Among the other Indians, Arjun Cheema and Varun Tomar both shot 582 to finish 10th and 11th respectively in the men's pistol event. Rhythm Sangwan, the only Indian in the women's air pistol, could not make much progress and finished 16th with a score of 575. However, the women's 50m rifle 3 positions (3P) team looked sharp as Anjum Moudgil (591), Sifat Kaur Samra (588) and Ashi Choksi (588) managed to reach their elimination rounds.
In men's 3P, Chain Singh (592), Swapnil Kusale and Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar also crossed the elimination barrier with ease. The 3P shooters will shoot their qualification rounds on Thursday. China continued their dominance in the men's 25m rapid fire pistol with Li Yuhong winning the gold medal. Vijayveer Sidhu (587) missed out on a place in the top six by one point in the final round of the competition on Tuesday. China now has four gold medals and France is second with one gold medal.
