Saharsa, 22 March (Hindustan Reporter). The resolution meeting of Comrade Krishna Prasad Sah, District Working Committee member of the Communist Party of India, was organized at his personal residence.
The program started by offering flowers on the oil painting of Krishna Prasad Sah. Addressing the resolution meeting, District Secretary of Communist Party of India, Comrade Parmanand Thakur said that Krishna Sah remained associated with the Communist Party of India all his life and kept fighting for the rights of workers. By establishing the Footpath Shopkeepers Association, he raised his voice against the atrocities being committed on the footpath shopkeepers and by fighting for their welfare, presented Saharsa as an example in the entire country. Stopped the daily butti collection for the municipality by the contractors from the footpath vendors.
This movement became an example for the entire country. Thanks to their struggle, in 2014 the Government of India passed the Street Vendors Livelihood Protection Act. The Bihar government passed the Street Vendors Livelihood Rights Protection Pass in 2017. Today, due to his struggle, the Vending Joe was passed in the TVC meeting for the footpath vendors in Saharsa district and got a permanent place for the vendors.
CPI's state council member Vijay Kumar Yadav said that by joining AITUC and other mass organizations, he always tried to protect the interests of the workers by fighting against the atrocities being committed against them.
