Former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar has compared wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson’s ability to hit sixes with Yuvraj Singh. Recently, Samson has been given the responsibility of opening the innings in the T20 team, which he has done very well through many brilliant innings. In the initial phase of his career, Samson had to be out of the team several times, but after winning the T20 World Cup, he has created a new identity as an opener in the series against Sri Lanka. During this period he has scored 436 runs including three centuries.
Sanjay Bangar appreciated this change of Samson and said that he is happy to see him scoring runs. He also praised the team management, which gave Sanju the opportunity to play for a long time and the freedom to play freely.
Speaking to Star Sports, Bangar said, “I am happy to see the success he has had recently. He has been in the team for a long time and has got the right opportunity. Playing matches continuously gives him freedom.”
He further said, “By batting higher he does not have to worry about the position. The field stays up, and he has the ability to hit sixes. After Yuvraj Singh, if there is any batsman who can do this comfortably, it is Sanju Samson. It is really a great experience to see him playing at full strength.”
