Araria, 30 November (Hindustan Reporter). On Saturday, daily sweepers protested in the Forbesganj Municipal Council office premises regarding compliance with the order of confirmation of Patna High Court.
Despite the decision to make more than eight dozen employees permanent against the sanctioned strength in the year 2016, due to non-permanence of them, order for timely confirmation was given by Patna High Court on 18th July 2024. Despite this, the department and officers did not comply with the decision of Patna High Court. The daily sanitation workers protested and boycotted the work due to which the cleaning work in the city was also affected. The protesting employees raised slogans in support of their demands. The protesting daily sanitation workers were also supported by other organizations.
State Organization Minister of Bihar Local Bodies Employees Federation, Suraj Kumar Sonu, who was present on the spot, said that a petition was filed in the Patna High Court regarding the permanentization of daily sweepers. Patna High Court had given the decision for timely confirmation on 18 July 2024 in the case number 4330/2020 and 3000/2020. But despite the order of the High Court, the court is being contempted by the department and departmental officers by not complying. Due to which the demonstration Is being done.
Those who demonstrated on the spot included Bhim Marik, Basant Marik, Tariq Anwar alias Pappu, Murshid Ansari, Harikant Jha, Lakshmi Marik, Kanhaiya Marik, Upendra Marik, Sanjay Marik, Sanjay Saila, Shivnarayan Das, Mahesh Ram, Vicky Marik, Santosh Marik, Manoj Marik, Pramod Marik, Shatrughan Singh, Rajesh Yadav, Shravan Sah, Dilip Rai, State Organization Minister of Bihar Local Bodies Employees Federation Suraj Kumar Sonu, Neelam Devi, Hema Devi, Nirmala Devi, Putul Devi, Radha Devi, Pinky Devi, Manju Devi, Babli Devi, Poonam Devi, Pooja Devi, Uma Devi, Geeta Devi. Seema Devi, Putul Devi, Tulsi Devi and others were present.
