A memorandum was submitted to Additional Collector GR Markam in the name of Honorable Chief Minister Chhattisgarh Government, Honorable School Education Minister Chhattisgarh Government, Honorable Tribal Welfare Minister Chhattisgarh Government, Secretary School Education Department Ministry Nava Raipur, demanding its postponement.
District Vice President Gewaram Netam and officials said that 9th August has been declared as World Tribal Day by the United Nations all over the world, this is a very big festival for the tribal community, indigenous community of the whole world, which is celebrated with great pomp by the indigenous and tribal society all over the world, the whole country and the state of Chhattisgarh. In this festival, the tribal society and all the officers and employees of the society also participate in this festival with great joy. Along with many states in the whole country, the Chhattisgarh government has already declared a general holiday on the said day in Chhattisgarh. But the Chhattisgarh Government School Education Department is organizing a cluster level parent teacher conference on the said date, which is impractical. An order has been issued to organize World Tribal Day on 9th August 2024. There is a state of confusion regarding the presence of the teacher community due to the order to organize such events on the already declared holiday and the biggest festival of the tribal society. Along with this, there is anger among the employee community including the teacher community. The union has demanded to postpone the cluster level parent teacher conference and hold it on another working day. In case of not postponing the meeting, the organization will be forced to launch agitation. On the occasion of handing over the memorandum, Vice Presidents of Tehsil unit Dhamtari Rahul Netam, Daulat Ram Dhruv, District and Tehsil officials Tikam Dhruv, Kalaram Gangesh, Anjana Netam, Umesh Netam, Jitendra Netam and other officials were present.
