Kolkata : The then Principal Sandeep Ghosh had committed irregularities in the post-mortem process of the body of a female doctor who was a victim of brutality at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata. Sandeep had completely 'controlled' the post-mortem through his trusted doctors. The CBI which is investigating the case has revealed this. During the interrogation by CBI, the mortuary assistant of the hospital told that during the post-mortem, he was not allowed to come near the body, he was made to sit on a chair in the corner, while his job was to mark the injured parts of the body. Informing the doctors about the dead body and post-mortem, helping the dead body and finally putting it to sleep.

CBI estimates that this was done to hide which body parts of the deceased were injured. CBI has interrogated the post-mortem team's chief doctor Apoorva Biswas and the mortuary assistant. The investigation also revealed that the post-mortem of the female doctor's body was done after sunset, while the post-mortem of seven bodies was done before sunset on the same day. In these the assistant used to do his work regularly.
