Built in a huge area of 66782.4 square meters, all types of indoor and outdoor sports can be organized in this stadium. This gift of the government is being considered a big boon for the sports talents of Purvanchal. Dr. Sampurnanand Sigra Stadium was lying in a dilapidated condition for the past several years. Regarding this, on the initiative of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, it has been prepared by MHPL India Private Limited, Kanpur on EPC mode on two-build method in collaboration with Khelo India and Smart City. The building that has been completed in the first phase has many sports facilities like 10 badminton courts, 4 squash courts, 4 billiards table rooms, 2 indoor basketball courts, 20 table tennis, covered Olympic size swimming pool, covered warm up swimming pool. , Gymnastic, Judo, Karate, Martial Arts, Yoga, Wrestling, Taekwondo, Boxing, Weight Lifting, High Tech Gymnasium which is built in two floors. Whereas the work of second and third phase has also progressed at a very fast pace and is almost complete. Officials are keeping an eye on this. This too will be completed soon.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also conducted an on-site inspection of the development project of the shopping complex under construction at the Town Hall grounds in Maidagin. After this, he also conducted an on-site inspection of the Sports Fitness Zone Development Project being constructed by the Municipal Corporation under the Kakarmatta flyover and while giving necessary directions to the Municipal Corporation officials present on the spot, he laid special emphasis on getting this Sports Fitness Zone ready soon. .
