The film was to be shot in Maldives. But, meanwhile, the shooting of the film came to a halt due to the diplomatic dispute between India and Maldives. As the film grew longer, costs began to increase.
During this, Karan asked Salman for a share in the profit and loss of the film. However, Salman refused to take such a risk. He had said that he would be released after paying his check fees.
Karan Johar was not ready to take a big risk alone because Salman's films were not performing well for the last few years.
The film is stuck in this controversy. Now Karan is working out for the new budget. He will proceed with this project only if he feels there is potential for profit in it.
Salman did a friendly cameo in Karan's film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Salman and Karan wanted to work together for some time. But, the project of this film has once again been disrupted.
