Unnao, June 04 (HS). Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Swami Sachchidanand Hari Sakshi Maharaj has scored a hat-trick of victory in the Unnao parliamentary seat. He has defeated SP candidate Annu Tandon from the India Alliance.
Sakshi Maharaj got 6,07,990 votes, while the Indy alliance got 5,70,656 votes. 37,334 votes were received. The District Election Officer has handed over the certificate of victory to Sakshi Maharaj.
It is noteworthy that in the 2014 and 2019 elections, Sakshi Maharaj won here on a BJP ticket. In 2014, Sakshi Maharaj defeated Arun Shankar Shukla of the Samajwadi Party (SP) by a margin of more than 3 lakh votes. In 2019, Sakshi Maharaj contested for the second time on a BJP ticket. In this election, Sakshi Maharaj defeated Sakshi Maharaj of SP by a margin of more than 4 lakh votes. In the 2024 elections, the BJP expressed confidence in Sakshi Maharaj for the third time and fielded him.
