Varanasi, 20 September (HS). Saints in Kashi on Friday raised a cry for cultural renaissance and took a pledge against religious conversion and love jihad. The occasion was the meeting of the guiding board of saints organised at the Dharma Sangh in Durgakund under the aegis of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Kashi Prant. The saints presented their views under the chairmanship of Saint Jayaram Dasi Maharaj of Shringverpur, Prayagraj.

Ashok Tiwari, the central saint contact chief of the council, raised issues like increasing conversions in society, love-jihad, lack of sanskars in families and social harmony. He said that Hindu society today faces many challenges, and the guidance of saints has always been important to deal with these problems. The saints also reflected on the liberation of Hindu religious places like Shri Kashi Vishwanath and Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi. At present, the saints are hurt by the attacks on Hindu religious pilgrimages. The saints stressed the need to make the society aware of these issues. The saints also talked about discussing with the government on the issue of population imbalance and equal law. In the upcoming Mahakumbh 2025, a saint conference will be organized at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati, where conversion, love-jihad, lack of sanskars, and social harmony will be discussed in depth.

Saint Avadh Bihari Das Maharaj stressed on the elimination of untouchability from Hindu society and said that for this, saints will have to take out awareness campaigns and try to eradicate discrimination in society.

The program was conducted by Saint Contact Head Kashi Province Aadya Shankar Mishra. Council's Area Organization Minister Gajendra, Saint Ramashram, Shankar Dev Chaitanya Brahmachari Ji, Gopal Ji Nirvani Akhara, Radhe Giri Niranjani Akhara, Manoj Brahmachari from Sachcha Ashram, Rajaram Maharaj from Falahari Ashram, Vimal Dev Ashram, Parashuram Akhara Sudarshanacharya etc. participated in the meeting.
