Saint Gadge was the pioneer of cleanliness campaign and a symbol of social harmony: Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow, 23 February (HS). Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav paid tribute to Sant Gadgeji Maharaj on his birth anniversary. He said that Saint Gadge was the pioneer of cleanliness campaign and a symbol of social harmony. Akhilesh Yadav said that Saint Gadge continued to make the society aware against social inequality and superstition. He was also against untouchability and caste system.

Akhilesh Yadav said that Saint Gadge took the initiative to educate the people by establishing a large number of educational institutions. He also had close relations with Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.

On the occasion of the 148th birth anniversary of the great social reformer Sant Gadge, former cabinet minister Rajendra Chaudhary paid floral tributes to the portrait of the great social reformer Sant Gadge at the state headquarters of Samajwadi Party in Lucknow.
