Jammu, June 29 (HS). Sainik Samaj Party President Colonel SS Pathania on Saturday extended full support to Dada during talks with a delegation of Doordarshan Approved Drama Artistes Association (DAPDAA) comprising President JS Babli, Vice President Madan Rangeela and spokesperson Janak Khajuria.
Pathania appreciated Team Dada for their dedication, commitment, resolve and indomitable spirit in reaching out to the people, organizing signature campaigns, meeting heads of social organizations, NGOs and leaders of political parties to build a consensus and get justice to Jammu region and establish a 24/7 satellite channel, Duggar Channel.
He said that an impressive infrastructure with state-of-the-art studios and staff quarters has been created by spending crores of rupees but sadly it is not functional. A Duggar channel will not only promote our art and culture but also encourage our talented youth to showcase their talent in Dogri, Punjabi and Gojri languages. At the same time, Pakistan's propaganda is being done very effectively in PoJK as people there do not understand Kashmiri language but are well versed with Dogri, Punjabi and Pahari languages. Establishment of Dogri channel will also stop Pakistan's propaganda.
During the discussion it was revealed that in the meeting of Sanchar Bharati Board on 14th February 2014 in-principle approval was given to convert five temporary channels in Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Jammu region into 24 hour channels. Sadly, except Jammu all other states as mentioned above have been provided with 24 hour channels. A period of nine years has passed and the status of Jammu Doordarshan is still temporary and is functioning with a meagre staff of 10 employees against the requirement of about 100 employees.
Pathania urged the people of Jammu region to come forward and support Dada and other organisations in their demand for 24/7 satellite HD channel.
