Saharanpur court orders arrest of Naresh Tikait and production of him on May 24

Saharanpur, 23 May (HS). Saharanpur court has ordered the arrest of BKU President Naresh Tikait in the case of holding a conference and blocking the road without permission. There are 24 accused in the nearly 14-year-old case, including Tikait and Imran Masood, who is currently contesting elections from Congress. Hearing will be held on May 24 in ACJM-3 (MP/MLA Court), Saharanpur.

A case was registered in Sarsawa police station on 20 May 2010 for holding a conference and blocking the national highway. Imran Masood and several other accused in this case have got bail so far. Arrest orders were issued for BKU president Naresh Tikait for not appearing in court.

The court ordered SSP Saharanpur to arrest Naresh Tikait on May 24 and present him in the court. At the time of the incident, Naresh Tikait was not the president of BKU, he had attended the conference as a representative. A case was registered against the accused under sections 147, 283 and 341 of the IPC in which Naresh Tikait, Imran Masood, Virendra, Raj Singh, Rajkumar, Sushil Chaudhary, Mukesh Chaudhary, Ommi Panwar, Virendra Shastri, Salman Masood, Abdul Wahid, Pradeep, Rajpal, Virendra Singh, Pravesh Gurjar, Pritam Singh, Jaswant, Mela Ram Panwar, Pappu, Virendra, Charan Singh, Ashok, Baljeet Singh and Ashok Chaudhary were named.
